accidentally a nap earlier, so woke up in the middle of the night and decided to doodle. on the left my portion of a collab with vanessa that we started april of 2011 (her part is cut out as i don’t know if she wants me to post her wip).  on the right is my ‘updated’ version drawn tonight, with a different hawke/LI, and better…well, everything.

concept doodle for worlds races, demon female. not 100% sure on the face model, and as you can see i do not have definitive horns.

if anyone has horn tutorials? tentative descrip on them are that they are thin and blade-like (vertically), and i am having trouble with how they would look at an angle/from the front.

[Beth] knew exactly what she wanted to do, and it was going to be very hard to convince the others… or at least that’s what she thought, anyway. Her friends were brave and strong, but not always stupid.

Hello, everyone. :] Meet Bethany Windfire. You’ll be seeing a lot more of her, her friends, her enemies, and the universe in which she resides over the course of the next couple of months.

She lives in the universe of the ‘Worlds’ series, a planned trilogy sci-fi/high fantasy series written by my good friend Daniel Koeker (if you remember a while back, we were also working on a series called ‘The Dream Sanctum’ - which by the by, is still on-going, but the art has been lacking with my dramasauce).

The ‘Worlds’ series is the first project Daniel and I worked on together, back in 2007; originally, I just did the book cover for the first novel (Guardians and Dark Beginnings) but after some problems with the prior artist, I took on the character work as well.

This is also a colour test. :X While I wasn’t originally planning on colouring it, I figure that it would be a good idea to do it on something that wasn’t any sort of “final” piece — my monitor is having some colour display issue, so hopefully you guys see what I see. The lineart should be an olive green, the skintone a warm peach, and the hair brown, but leaning towards the ‘red’ bit of the colour spectrum.

This is still an “under development” project, so Beth’s appearance might change a bit over time. :]
