Yesss.

I fucking hate that people bitch and moan about this art style being better or worse than that art style. People who say that anime/manga artists aren’t “real” artists, traditional artists who bitch about digital artists not being “real” artists.. etc, etc.

If you don’t like a genre of art, that does not invalidate the genre or artists of that genre. Don’t be such a pretentious assbutt.  

Also, I hate people who do the above, have very little skill (and I mean technique/practice/skill level, not talent), and refuse to take any negative critique. I know a guy who dismisses anyone who dislikes his art, completely and absolutely, by being an ass about their art.

He asked for my critique on something, I told him he probably should study proportions. At this point, I needed to as well; my art wasn’t stellar, but I did understand when things looked wrong.  He turns around and tells me my anime is “too polygonial” and never took any critique. Not from me, not from anyone. After four years of knowing him, his art looks completely the same, no level of improvement.

He believes that Square Enix should hire him, as he is “good enough”.  His head is so swollen because he’s talented - and he really is, I won’t deny that - but he thinks his talent is good enough that everyone else’s opinion, should they offer anything but praise, is invalid.

Don’t fucking be like that, you look like a jerk.
